About ME
I love what I do! Trained as an early years teacher, I now feel privileged to work with so many wonderful families on a daily basis. My job is to share in and capture such a precious time in your family's story and of course to cuddle all those beautiful babies.
Known to many of the new parents I photograph as 'the baby whisperer', I have refined my skills as a newborn photographer through extensive training and experience. I have become an expert in the unique skills required to pose and photograph my tiny clients safely and professionally and I now enjoy mentoring other newborn photographers. Over the years I am delighted that many families have returned for me to capture their second, third and even fourth new arrivals.

Safety and your newborn
Who will handle your newborn baby in their first few weeks of life? Medical professionals, close family perhaps - and your newborn photographer.
I encourage you to schedule a phone or video call with me, or visit the studio before your session. This is a chance to get to know me, ask those important questions about safety procedures and training so that when you come to the studio with your brand new baby, you will feel entirely comfortable, confident and relaxed.

Comfortable and cosy, my Rachel Burnside Photography garden studio is a far cry from a big, impersonal, commercial space. There are no fluorescent lights, waiting areas or hustle and bustle. Just a comfy sofa, gentle colours and of course, good coffee.
