So you're expecting a baby - congratulations! This is such an exciting time for your family and I am delighted that you are considering investing in professional newborn photography to capture your memories. Since opening my purpose built newborn studio years ago, I am honoured to have worked with over 500 newborn babies and their families. I now also enjoy training and mentoring other photographers in the specialist newborn skills I have acquired.
All newborn photo shoots take place in my cosy, purpose built newborn photography studio in the little village of Stratford sub Castle, on the edge of Salisbury Plain, near Salisbury. Our studio is perfectly placed to serve families throughout the Tidworth, Bulford and Larkhill areas, with many parents travel from further afield.
Timing is crucial when it comes to newborn photography. Ideally, I love to photograph babies between 5 and 21 days old to capture the sweet, sleepy images you will see on my website. After this time, babies tend to uncurl and become more awake and alert for longer periods during the day. This makes for some beautiful wide-eyed images, but it can make sleepy poses more difficult to achieve. That said, I am able to offer adapted newborn sessions up to 6 weeks of age, so if your baby is already older than three weeks, please don't feel that you have left it too late. We can still create a beautiful gallery of images for you.
In an ideal world I would encourage you to book your newborn session early in your pregnancy, around the 20 week mark, to ensure availability for your due date. I offer all my clients the high level of customer experience, and in order to do this I am only able to accommodate a limited number of newborn bookings per month.

Our signature newborn sessions include family and sibling images as well as portraits of your baby on their own. Although I understand that new parents probably aren't feeling their best and might not want to be in front of the camera, I would urge you to capture some family images for your baby to look back on. You won't regret it, I promise!
Our cosy studio is fully equipped with everything you will need for your newborn photo shoot from wraps, rompers and props to nappies, tea, coffee and snacks. It really is a home from home and the perfect place for tired new parents to relax. I understand that leaving home for the first time with your newborn can be stressful, so rest assured that your visit to the studio will be enjoyable and stress-free.
Families I have photographed often comment about how much they enjoy the opportunity just to sit back, breathe and take in all the details of the amazing tiny human that they have created. Some even manage to have a snooze!
Two weeks later, you'll return to the studio (or we can catch up on Zoom) to view your gallery at your ordering appointment. This is when I will share your beautifully edited images with you for the first time and you will have the chance to choose your digital image collection and printed products. I love to see the look on parent's faces when then view their baby's gallery for the very first time! In addition to your collection, I have a selection of high quality wall art, albums and prints available to order in the studio if you choose to do so.
