Salisbury newborn photography session for Baby Bihani and her parents.
This beautiful family came to my Salisbury Newborn Photography studio for their newborn session all the way from Aldershot in Hampshire. Their little girl was 4 weeks new and perfect in every way!
All our Signature Newborn Photography Sessions begin with family and/ or sibling images. This allows families to come to the studio dressed and ready to be photographed, before being able to kick back and relax for the rest of the session. As her mummy's favourite colour is purple, we styled Bihani's family images around that colour and it suits her perfectly!
Newborns love to be swaddled and little Bihani was perfectly happy and content to be cuddled up in her parents arms for this part of the session. I kept her cosy and swaddled for the next set of images but changed her wrap for this beautiful shade of aqua blue. This is one of the accent colours in her parent's lounge at home so I know where these images will be displayed! The addition of a tiny teddy and a beautiful floral halo were the perfect finishing touch to this set of newborn photographs.
Bihani's parents told me that she was a much longed for, rainbow baby. A rainbow baby is a baby born after previous loss during pregnancy or birth, much like the beautiful rainbow which comes after a storm. When parents confide in me about their rainbow baby's story, I love to acknowledge this by using some rainbow baby props during the session. In this image Bihani looks beautiful in a bright rainbow wrap and halo.
We also took a more neutral set of images styled in the same way to give Bihani's parents lots of choices in their final gallery. She just loved holding that tiny teddy!
During a newborn photography session, I gradually unwrap each baby as they become more comfortable in the studio. For these images, I used a criss-cross wrap which allowed Bihani's tiny toes to show, as well as her hands. We also incorporated a bright rainbow again on the simple white backdrop.
Black and white family images are always some of my favourites from a newborn session. This backlit series of photographs are the perfect way to capture family photos if parents are not so keen to be looking at the camera. They really are classic and timeless!
We then continued the newborn photography session with more images of sweet Bihani on her own. This star backdrop is one of my favourites for boys and girls, it's so pretty!
Our newborn photography sessions finish with unwrapped poses on the colour of your choice. Bihani looks perfect here on a beautiful soft pink backdrop.
Bihani was such a little star throughout her newborn session. She only woke up at the very end for this stunning black and white photograph in her parents' hands. It was lovely to see her beautiful eyes though!
