I love using greens in my newborn photography sessions! From muted pale shades to vibrant foliage, green always makes me think of nature, woodlands and new beginnings. Sweet Baby M came to the studio for his newborn photographs at just over a week old, and as we are just beginning to see the first shoots of Spring here, the willow buds and gentle greens were the perfect choice for his session.
Another favourite of mine is classic cream. I love show it shows off Baby M's amazing head of dark hair and peeks out from behind a sweet knit bonnet too.
Photographing babies with their parents is one of my favourite parts of a session. These are your first portraits as a new family unit and it's so important to have timeless images which you will treasure.
Baby M loved being swaddled and cosy; it sent him straight into a beautiful sleep.
We even captured a little smile!
With his daddy being a commando, Baby's M's parents were keen to capture a special photograph with his daddy's special green beret and little one was happy to oblige!
We finished the session with one of my favourite poses which I call 'Daddy's Hands'. Safely curled in his daddy's hands, it's the perfect way to remember just how small your baby was in their first few weeks of life.
