Create lasting memories of this emotional milestone with a 1st birthday cake smash photo shoot in our Salisbury studio. Your session begins with some beautiful (and clean!) portraits of your baby, before we move on to the messy cake smashing antics.
Once your little one has enjoyed their cake, we finish the session with a splash in our mini bath tub, leaving your baby beautifully clean for the journey home.

When Should you book your baby's 1st birthday photoshoot?
All birthday Cake Smash Photo Shoots take place in our cosy Wiltshire studio and include a pre-session consultation with bespoke, customised theme design. I recommend booking your Cake Smash Photoshoot several months before your little one's 1st birthday to ensure availability and a good choice of dates.
Some clients choose to have their session around 3 weeks before their child's first birthday so that they have the finished images ready to make thank you cards etc. Others prefer to have the session as part of the celebrations or even on the big day itself. Because of the planning involved, Cake Smash sessions must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance.
Smash Photoshoots Pricing
You can reserve your Cake Smash photoshoot at the studio for a £75 session fee. This includes everything required for your baby's birthday photoshoot - even the cake! After your session, I will create a beautiful gallery with a minimum of 30 images for you and approximately 2 weeks after your session we'll meet via Zoom for your viewing and ordering appointment. There is absolutely no need to choose or commit to a package until you have seen your final gallery, because I truly want you to be able to go into this process with total peace of mind.
What Does the Cake Smash Session Fee Include?
Your session fee includes a beautiful cake smash set designed just for you! A delicious, handmade cake is made to match your theme by Sugar Wish Cakes and Bakes, Salisbury with most special dietary requirements (dairy/soya/egg free) catered for. Sharon has been making cakes for me for over seven years and they are always beautiful and delicious!
Our extensive collection of cake smash outfits are available to use in the studio and a towel and bubble bath are provided for the splash part of the session. All you need to bring is your usual changing supplies, some snacks and a drink for your little one.
Image Collections and Products
Your Session fee does not include any digital images or products. Your digital file collection and any printed products e.g. albums, prints and wall art are chosen at your ordering appointment when you view your finished gallery.

How To Book Your Baby's Cake Smash Session
Get in touch to receive our brochure, full pricing and all the details. Your session is booked online by paying the Signature Cake Smash Session fee online via the link provided in our email. Once you have booked, you'll receive a pre-session questionnaire to complete - this helps us to create the theme for your session and order your cake.
What happens after your baby's birthday photoshoot?
Within 2 weeks of your session your gallery of beautifully edited images will be ready to view. We will get together via Zoom for your gallery reveal and ordering appointment. This is when you will choose your favourite images files as a digital bundle, or one of our great value All Inclusive Collections to receive all your digital image files and a selection of stunning printed products. Your digital files will be available to download immediately after your ordering appointment - perfect for making those party invitations or thank you cards - and any prints, albums and wall art will be ready within four weeks of the proof being approved.

What Happens If my Baby Doesn't Eat the Cake?
We understand that most little ones won't actually consume a lot of cake. Some may indulge in the icing, while others might pick up tiny sprinkles or crumbs. A few may even take a few bites of cake. However, the majority of the session will be focused on messy play - singing songs, banging with a wooden spoon, and playing with the cake. Rest assured that this is more than enough to create stunning images of your baby enjoying their cake without them needing to eat very much.
We always encourage parents and siblings to join in on the fun, and there's usually plenty of cake leftover for you to take home. By having realistic expectations and understanding that your baby only needs to interact with the cake in a few different ways to create a beautiful image gallery, you can relax and enjoy the experience with your baby.
Most parents are able to take a good chunk of the cake home to enjoy later!
